Iga was born in Warsaw, Poland, but life has lead her through many international paths.

In 1998 she won a competitive scholarship to Atlantic College in Wales, UK, the oldest of the United World Colleges. While there, Iga was a participant of a peace conference to Israel and the Palestinian lands in 2000.

She got her BA at Dartmouth College in the USA, one of the eight Ivy League schools, graduating Summa Cum Laude and as a senior fellow, as well as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She received the Heiman-Rosenthal Award and the Sudler Prize for the totality of her artistic achievement at Dartmouth.

In 2004, she was chosen as one of the 50 students worldwide for The Telluride Film Festival Student Film Symposium, organized by one of America's largest Film Festivals and the mecca of independent-minded filmmakers. (link to website)

In 2005, she received a Lombard Fellowship to fund her next documentary, and in 2006 a commission from a major Polish publishing office to conduct a book-long interview with a leading Polish filmmaker, Mr. Krzysztof Zanussi (see projects in progress).

"I chose filmmaking when I was a teenager, and it has been a passion for me ever since. I see it as the ultimate crowning of all arts, a powerful way of communicating with masses of people, and a beautiful incidence of teamwork."
